I will be adding an additional treatment option for nasal valve collapse at my practice – a minimally invasive implant from Stryker that helps to support the valve walls and improve patients’ breathing. Previously I have used cartilage grafts (batten grafts), which can change the appearance of the nose. This small implant, however, is hardly noticeable and is highly effective. Here are a few videos explaining a little more about nasal valves and how the implant works.

Dean Toriumi, one of the most respected facial plastic surgeons in the world, specializes in rhinoplasty. He is highly skilled and gives a good break down of the procedure.

Here, Dr. Toriumi describes the internal and external nasal valves.

Here is a breakdown of how the patient encounter would go, as we evaluate for the procedure.

Here is what the implant itself does.

Finally, here is what a real patient who has had the Entera implant has to say about the procedure.

I hope this information is useful as patients learn more about what my practice has to offer the community!
